Description
Each tablet contains Calcium (Calcium Carbonate) 300 mg, Vitamin D 100 IU.
Action
Pharmacology: Calcium with Vitamin D Plus consists a combination of Calcium and Vitamin D. Calcium helps to maintain good development and formation of bones and teeth. The presence of Vitamin D is essential in promoting better absorption and utilization of Calcium and Phosphate in the body. Calcium with Vitamin D Plus is a formulation for maintenance of good health.
Indications/Uses
As a health supplement.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult: One chewable tablet 3 times daily with food.
Overdosage
Symptoms and Treatment of Overdose: Anorexia, lassitude, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, polyuria, profuse sweating, headache and extreme thirst. Hypercalcemia may result in calcium deposits in tissues, such as the arteries and kidneys, which may lead to hypertension and renal failure.
If symptoms arise discontinue administration and give large quantities of fluid and electrolytes. The patients should be placed on a low calcium diet. Cortisone rapidly reduces hypercalcemia in severe conditions.
Contraindications
Hypercalcimea and hypercalceuria; severe renal disease; calcium loss due to immobilization of calcium; renal calculi.
Special Precautions
Dietary and other sources of vitamin D should be evaluated to avoid excessive intake.
Should be given with care to patients with impaired renal function.
The following laboratory test and/or values may be modified during the use of the drug: serum calcium and serum gastrin concentration may decrease.
Oxalic acid-containing foods, such as rhubard and spinach, and phytic acid containing foods, such as bran and whole grain cereals, should be avoided since concurrent use may inhibit calcium absorption.
Pregnancy and lactation: It should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation; as excessive dose may give rise to hypercalcemia in the offspring.

Side Effects
It is generally well tolerated and side effects are rare, those which have been noted include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, headache and weakness.

Keep container tightly closed.
Store at temperature below 30°C.
